    There are many reasons which are responsible for the power cut are voltage problems, major fault, demand for electricity, power cut, etc. So the Electricity department has started a new helpline for its consumers.

    At present, there is a toll-free number 18002331912, where consumers could call for any complaint regarding power cut, fault in meter or metre reading, fluctuation in voltage, sparkles in transformer or any accident related with electricity. Now, telephone number 1912 is specifically allotted to Electricity Call Centers for handling power supply related complaints.

    Electricity Call Center

    • These call centers will make sure to take related complaints and efficient, assured, and timely services to the customers.

    • Status of the complaint is periodically tracked and updated.

    • The customer can know the status of the complaints registered by contacting the call center personnel.

    • In case the complaint is not resolved within a specified time limit, the complaint is escalated to the notice of higher authorities for expediting the resolution process.

    Indian Power Minister Shri. Piyush Goyal released URJA app as part of Digital India campaign that empower citizen to bring transparency on the performance of their Town and States. The App is a platform for users to get information on the power supply services in their region.

    It brings transparency on pending complaints, the average duration of a power outage, the average number of power cuts, pending connections, number of consumers making e-payment, loss of power. The App has two main dashboards, one for the consumer and another for the DISCOMs.

    The app also shows the power cut schedule on DISCOM level for the next two days. It is linked to the database of all the DISCOM websites to show the latest news and happenings. image gallery and other useful information. User can also read tips to save energy and will get time to time notification.
