    Types of Staircases and its Designs

    A stair is a set of steps leading from one floor of a building to another, inside the building or outside the building. For a construction or remodeling project, the type of staircase is also a very important consideration.

    Different types of staircases provide specific kinds of visual appeal and and also some staircases are designed to saving space.

    When considering a new staircase, think about your family members and how they use the stairs because each kind has advantages and disadvantages.

    Straight Staircase

    One of the most common and affordable stair designs is the straight staircase. Maximum this stair design for its simplicity. The fact that a straight line design needs no special support and can simply be attached from the bottom to top, makes it for easy installation.

    This type of staircases mostly used in houses and commercial places. But this is not comfortable in all time. It is comfortable for short distance usage only.

    L-Shaped Staircase

    L-shaped stairs are another common style of staircase. They are basically a straight staircase with a turn, either in the middle or closer to one end or the other. L-shaped stairs are appealing for a variety of reasons, primarily because they are more visually appealing. In addition, they tend to take up less space and can be used in the corner of a room.

    These are also called quarter turn stairs. The staircase consists of a landing space followed by a 90-degree bend. You can choose to install your landing space anywhere along the staircase and can customize the staircase any way as you like.

    These staircases are much like L-shape staircases but consist of a 180-degree landing extension. Some U shaped staircases consist of two 90 degree landing spaces with steps between them to ease the climb. This staircases are safe to take rest spot on the landing space. If you carry any weight on the stairs, you can take rest on that landing space.

    Ladder Stairs

    These are the most uncomfortable to climb but they are functional, especially considering their price. These staircases are mostly used outdoors or as a temporary.

    This type of staircases are mostly used for terrace Water Tank and temporary uses.

    Bifurcated stairs are commonly used in public building at their entrance hall. This has a wider flight at the bottom, which bifurcates into two narrower flights, one turning to the left and other to the right, at landing.it may be either of newel type with a newel post or of geometrical type with continuous stringer and hand rails.

    This type of staircases mostly uses in schools, colleges, shopping malls, etc.

    Curved Staircase

    These staircase types are also beautiful. The staircase basically just curves upward instead of heading up in a straight line and the result is a lot softer. This is mostly used in Light House and corporation water tanks and large buildings, etc.

    Spiral Staircase

    The spiral design is a great for a secondary staircase. The downside is it’s not easy to ascend or descent. It’s actually pretty precarious. The steps attach to a center pole. These can be made with wood or metal.

    It’s a space-saving design and actually. This is mostly used in Light House and corporation water tanks and large buildings, etc.
